Gaius and Germanicus are reunited with their younger siblings at Sim State University. They're in a brand new dorm, as the one the previous generations of Lawsons lived in was starting to get scarily glitchy. That means no ghosts (yet) and more room for dormies.
Because Uni can take forever I decided to do things a little differently this time around, playing it a bit like an ISBI-light, in that I only controlled the heir most of the time, with the spares pretty much doing what they wanted unless they were on dates. It made uni much easier and more fun :)
All that said, let's see how the kids turned out. Here's Gaius...
...and our heir, Grace! I actually think her brothers are all better-looking than her, but I just became so fond of her as a teen, and it does mean that the accidental alternating-gender of heirs scheme will continue for another generation.
Those of you who have another favourite shouldn't worry, though. The boys still get a lot of playtime during Uni ;)
This is Adam Goss. He's one of the three dormies, and he is Very Important.
Grace kept rolling wants related to her highschool girlfriend, Lilly, so she invites her over.
LILLY: You know I'm jailbait now, right?
There's an easy way to deal with that. Somehow she finds herself aged up to young adult ;)
And Grace immediately makes the most of it. While it's rather sweet that her very first woohoo is with her first love, the fact that it takes place in a photo booth dulls the romance a little.
Lilly is totally cute, but she and Grace only have one bolt of chemistry. When I'm at the helm, that doesn't auger well for their long term future as a couple.
The twins head out to check out the campus sights and see if they can find any particularly attractive townies to woo.
Guillaume is very much enamoured of this chap, whom I think looks a bit like Benedict Cumberwhatsit, but doesn't manage to do anything about it.
Professor McCreepy isn't so restrained.
Perhaps the twins' lack of romancing success has something to do with the fact that they think it's fun to gossip about their father.
The hair here belongs to dormie number two, Jill McAuley. As you can see, Germanicus isn't a fan.
He's genuinely shocked and hurt when she responds to his poke with a poke of her own. Surely that's not fair!
They're not friends.
For all his bravado, Germanicus still finds it hard to cope with the desperate sadness of being slapped... even though he's the one who started it.
It's okay, though. Another slapping and Jill's the one who's crying.
Germanicus feels pretty damn good about that.
It was probably always inevitable that things would turn out this way.
And victory goes to Germanicus!
GERMANICUS: Oh crap, did I kill her?
GRACE: Hahahaha! He killed her!
You're cute when you're being evil, Grace. She's not actually dead, though. Sorry to disappoint you.
It wouldn't be University without compulsive smustling until everyone is exhausted and stinking to high heaven.
Typical twins. More interested in each other than in the strangers who are trying to admire them.
Grace eventually gets her act together and realises that she actually has two bolts with the dormie who was trying to get her attention. Her name is Arianne Keen and I'm beginning to wonder whether Grace has a thing for redheads.
Before much can happen with Arianne, however, the dorm is invaded by cheerleader Elise Sims, who is surprisingly happy to talk sex with a complete stranger in Grace.
It seems like that's a good way to Grace's heart.
Elise will be pretty cute after a makeover, which is a good thing, given that she and Grace have three bolts of chemistry.
It would have to be the bloody cheerleader.
Remember Adam the dormie from the very beginning of the update? He and Griff have been quietly carrying on a flirtation since they moved into the dorm.
With ACR in the mix, it was only a matter of time until they consummated the attraction.
Arianne returns for a date with Grace. They have two bolts, not three, but Arianne has the key attraction of not cheering every two seconds. She's also super cute.
Soon after greeting Arianne, Grace is SHOCKED AND HORRIFIED. Whatever could be going on?
No biggie. Just Adam deciding to hang out naked in the hot tub in the front yard. As you do.
It's okay, though. Grace manages to recover from that trauma in time to shag Arianne before the date is over.
And Elise cheers away in the background.
First dormie pass-out of the generation!
This is Zoe Bui. As you can see, she has red hair too. As you can also see, Grace is about to do Very Rude Things to her in the aforementioned hot tub.
The first dormie 'accident' follows quick on the heels of the first dormie pass-out.
If you've been wondering what happened to dormie number three, he's been staying fairly quiet up until this point, but that's all about to change. His name is Dickson Ebadi, and he's managed to get on Guillaume's bad side. Silly boy.
He likes Guillaume about as much as Guillaume likes him: aka, not at all.
The big meanie makes Guillaume cry – something that's not easy to do. I don't think he's cried since he was a toddler whining to get out of his cot.
Here's a better shot of Zoe. She's very pretty, and reminds me a bit of Germanicus. It's probably the eyes.
NAKED ADAM: Mind if I join you guys?
REDHEADED CHAP: PLUS PLUS PLUS
Griff doesn't seem to mind Adam's nudist tendencies.
Given the three bolt attraction and the fact that Elise is always around, this was probably inevitable.
It was also inevitable that Guillaume and Dickson's mutual loathing would devolve into open warfare.
Grace and Elise are too busy snogging to notice.
Woo! Go Germanicus. Kick that dormie's butt!
The prefect illustration of the differences between Grace's and Elise's personalities. Grace cheers the fight on while Elise worries that someone will get hurt. Quite surprising for a cheerleader, really. They're usually more than happy to beat up the mascots.
As Grace doesn't seem to be going to forget about Elise any time soon, here's a better shot of her. She's very pretty, although also rather generic. Like Grace, she's a popularity sim. She's also skin type three, which is obviously VERY light in my new defaults as it took me a while to realise she wasn't type two.
Just in case you're wondering, Guillaume still hates Dickson.
This is new. Now the passed-out dormies are neatly stacking themselves in piles.
Germanicus and Jill are at it again.
Jill actually wins for the first time. And boy does she look creepy.
All the fighting has played havoc with Germanicus's aspiration level. He spends half his time worrying...
...and the other half crying about his sad lot in life.
It's not all bad, though. Sometimes there are incontinent enemies to laugh at.
In rather more positive news, Griff and Adam fall in love with absolutely no prompting on my behalf. Will they actually manage to have a drama-free university existence? (Spoiler: no.)
Not wanting to be outdone by her brothers, Grace decides to get in on some of the fighting action. She's not a fan of Jill since Jill actually managed to beat Germanicus in a fight.
You know it's Uni when two sims are fighting to the death on top of another sim who's passed out.
I've been playing Sims 2 for way too many years and this is the first ever time I've realised that sims can get a huge fun boost from watching a fight.
Grace also enjoys the amusement of having two dormies passed out on the front path. She's such a kind girl. Cough.
Oh dear. This doesn't look good for Jill...
Germanicus finds it absolutely hilarious that he killed Jill by fighting her so often that she had no time for eating. Ladies and gentlemen: portrait of an unrepentant murderer.
GUILLAUME and GERMANICUS: Ewwww the dead chick is really starting to smell...
And on that sympathetic note, we shall leave the Lawsons for a while. Next update: the second half of university, a surprising amount of partner-swapping and a bunch of proposals.
